Tips
on Creating Your Personal Web Pages
While MacConnect does not provide
direct HTML or web page/site creation help, we've prepared a set of links
designed to help you get started in the world of web publishing.
If you know of a site which we
should add, please email the webmaster.
Please contact Tech
Support before uploading anything, so that we may check to see that
FTP and Web access are enabled.
You should name your main page
index or homepage or home with the extension .html
so it would look like this: index.shtml. If you want to use a text-based
web counter then your page will need a .shtml extension this
to work.
In either case, your address
on the web (URL) will be:
http://members.macconnect.com/~username
To upload your web pages,
using Fetch 3.0.1 or higher
Specify these FTP settings:
Server: members.macconnect.com
Username: your username
Password: your password
Directory: leave blank
Here is where you will upload
your pages.
If you want to use Netscape
Composer to upload your pages
Go to File then to PUBLISH
Publish files to: ftp://members.macconnect.com/your_page_name.html
Username: your username
Password: your password
